Cranborne Education

Has your child suddenly lost confidence?

Are they fine on paper but not flourishing?

Do they struggle where things used to be easy for them?

Most young people are capable of far more than they currently believe, and the gap is rarely about intelligence. It is about knowing what they want, trusting themselves enough to go after it, and having the habits to follow through.

Confidence, resilience, curiosity, courage; none of these are things that can be handed over in a pep talk; it's built from evidence, one small, real achievement at a time, and that is what our programmes are designed to support. We cultivate the potential in each young person.

Founder

Charlotte Hughes-D’Aeth

With over fifteen years of teaching in leading UK and UAE boarding schools, including Charterhouse and Repton Dubai, and with a good deal of that time spent in pastoral and boarding house roles, I know the young person behind the grades: what they worry about, what they hide, and what they are capable of when someone is gently challenging them and cheering them on behind the scenes. What I want is for them to grow into confident, curious and resilient young adults who know their own minds and are not afraid to find out how far their ambitions might take them.

My work brings together everything I have learned in the classroom and the boarding house with a real interest in how young people are growing, not simply how they are performing.

I work with a small number of families at a time, which means the guidance is genuinely personal and gives me the room to do what Cranborne is really for; cultivating potential. The measure of whether it has worked is simple, because the process finishes with them needing us less than they did at the beginning.

Questions parents ask

  • How is this different from tutoring?

    • Tutoring improves performance in a subject; mentoring builds the judgement, habits and self-belief that make performance possible in every subject.

  • Is it in person or online?

    • Each topic is covered in an in-person session in Dubai followed by an online session, and families abroad can work fully online.

  • Will I know what is discussed?

    • Parents receive progress updates and a handover at the end, while the content of sessions stays between mentor and student, which is what allows the student to be honest. Any safeguarding concern is always shared.

  • How do we start?

    • With a free, no-obligation conversation, and then a chemistry session with your child to make sure it is the right fit for everyone.
